You can download VPN for Mac free online, and Windscribe is a really good choice! Windscribe comes packed with a free VPN client for Mac alongside clients for other operating systems like Windows and Linux. What’s more, this VPN provides an extension for both Chrome and Firefox, so users can integrate it into these browsers and surf the web synonymously without any hassle and it’ll save a lot of time.
As mentioned above, there’s a free version of Windscribe for Mac and you can download free VPN for MacBook Pro as well, but you can choose to take part in a longer trip with this VPN by signing up for a paid version, which starts from $9 (~Rs. 670) per month.
ProtonVPN
Coming in at the 3rd place when you need to download free unlimited VPN for Mac, ProtonVPN is another must-try VPN as it houses a security-centric feature called “Secure Core”. Once enabled, the VPN will forward users’ traffics through several servers rather than just redirecting them to the Internet via a specific location. In short, this increases user privacy because others cannot exactly figure out where the original connection came from.
ProtonVPN also offers “No Log”, so it’s evident that you shouldn’t worry too much about whether or not your information will be teased out later. As a matter of fact, the service will be more amazing if you pay a monthly fee to use an advanced version.
TunnelBear
Similar to other names in this list, TunnelBear is equipped with the “no logging” feature and AES 256-bit encryption technology for the best privacy. With a Hotspot Shield account on hand, you can connect the VPN to up to 5 different devices. It really makes sense as most of the free VPNs allow only one connection for an account at a time, and Hotspot Shield turns out to be the best choice for multitasking.
Hotspot Shield includes 2500 servers worldwide, so your device will be able to keep up with not only the security but also the speed wherever you go. This VPN service also supports Kill Switch technology, which will stop all traffic from your computer to the web until its VPN network is restored. This often happens when an issue occurs through the VPN connection, and thanks to Kill Switch, your data will never be out of control.
Conclusion
Now you get the answer to Download a free VPN for Mac. Nobody can know what you’re watching or looking for, because all the connections via VPN are encrypted. Have a good time with these amazing tools!
The internet is a dangerous place, and it grows more dangerous with each passing day. If you venture online without the protection of a Virtual Private Network (VPN), you’re running the risk of being monitored and possibly having your important personal and business information stolen.
If you pay bills, do your banking, or shop online, I strongly suggest you use a VPN. A VPN is also a handy tool for accessing content that may normally be blocked in your home area, or in other parts of the world you might be visiting. For example, when you travel abroad, the content available on Netflix in the U.S. is different than that found on the service in France, the U.K., or Germany.
There are five main benefits of using a VPN. They are following:
- To protect your personal and business data while using a public Wi-Fi hotspot.
- To maintain your anonymity while online
- To access U.S. content while you’re on vacation abroad.
- To access foreign content you normally don’t have access to.
- To access content that is blocked by your ISP, school, workplace, or even your government.
Overview
VPN Unlimited
As a part of our VPN review series, I’ll be reviewing a well-known and respected VPN provider, VPN Unlimited from KeepSolid Inc. This VPN does a very solid job of protecting your online activities undercover, thanks to its use of military-level encryption.
The provider also reliably opens access to blocked content, such as that offered by Netflix, Hulu, BBC iPlayer, and other streaming services.
Reliably Unblocks U.S. Netflix and Hulu, Provides Very Fast Download Speeds, and Provides Optimal Online Protection and Customer Support
Features
Apps
VPN Unlimited offers comprehensive native app support. The provider offers apps for the following device platforms:
- macOS
- iOS
- Android
- Windows
- Windows Phone
- Linux
VPN Unlimited can also protect and enhance your experience with you other devices, including your Apple TV (and other lesser streaming devices such as the Amazon Fire TV and Roku), PlayStation 4, Xbox One, smart TVs, and other internet-connected devices by purchasing a pre-configured router or setting the service up on your own compatible router.
For the purposes of this review, we used the macOS and iOS apps. Both apps proved to be easy to install and to setup. The apps are easy-to-use, providing one-click/tap access to encrypted protection for all of your devices’ online activities.
The provider’s apps offer one click/tap protection, thanks to an “optimal” provider option, which connects to the best performing VPN server in your area. In addition, the app also offers quick access to servers offering the best access to various streaming services, as well as those optimized for peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing.
I found both the iOS and macOS apps to be gentle with my system resources, and both apps delivered reliable connections with little to no slowdown.
VPN Unlimited allows users to simultaneously connect up to 5 devices using the same username. That comes in handy for users with large families, or who own small businesses.
Connection Speeds
While I would never recommend a potential VPN users concentrate only on connection speed when considering a VPN provider, it is an important consideration. File downloads, viewing high-definition video, and gaming all benefit from a fast connection speed.
When I performed the speed tests for this review I used my early 2015 MacBook Pro and my iPhone XS Max, connected to my gigabit fiber connection.
I used the iOS and macOS versions of the Speedtest app. I first tested my download speeds without a VPN, then fired up the VPN Unlimited app and connected to the nearest server (in my case, that’s in Virginia). I then once again tested my download speeds with the VPN turned on.
The speed results on my iPhone XS Max were a bit surprising, as my VPN-protected download speeds outperformed my unprotected speeds. (Depending on the route your connection is taking to the Speedtest server, a VPN connection can be a bit faster, but it doesn’t happen too often.)
My normal download speeds came in at 234 Mbps, and upstream speeds of 82.4 Mbps, while my VPN-protected speeds measured in at 249 Mbps down and 10.8 Mbps up.
My MacBook Pro tests showed a slower VPN connection, but not by enough to affect my online activities. My unprotected connection speeds measured in at 249 Mbps down and 156 Mbps up. With the VPN Unlimited protection turned on, my download speeds dropped to 200 Mbps down and 9.86 Mbps up.
You’ll find that your mileage will vary, with your speeds depending on your ISP, your device, your wireless router, and other factors.
During testing, I connected to Netflix, BBC iPlayer, Hulu, and other popular streaming services on both my iPhone and MacBook Pro. In all tests, the VPN Unlimited-provided download speeds were easily up to delivering a smooth, buffer-free viewing experience.
Global Server Network
The size of a VPN provider’s global server network is another important factor when considering a VPN. A provider with server farms covering the globe provides optimal access to online services and websites that may normally be blocked in your region.
A VPN’s unblocking ability can prove especially beneficial in countries where the government blocks accesses to numerous sites and services, including the United Arab Emirates, China, Iran, and other countries.
VPN Unlimited’s global server network includes 400+ servers, stationed in 80+ locations in 55+ countries around the globe. The provider may not have the absolute best global coverage I’ve ever seen, but it has the major countries around the world covered, providing optimal access to most areas of the globe.
Access to Netflix and Other Streaming Services
VPN Unlimited delivers access to most of the popular streaming services, including U.S. Netflix and Hulu streams, BBC iPlayer in the U.K., ESPN+, HBO Now, Popcornflix, Hotstar, Rai.tv, and Sony Crackle.
Connecting to one of the streaming services is as easy as clicking on the “streaming tab in the VPN Unlimited app, waiting for the connection to complete, and then firing up your favorite streaming service.
I tested the app with U.S. netflix, Hulu, HBO Now, and BBC iPlayer, and in all cases I was provided with a reliable and enjoyable streaming experience. All of the content began streaming immediately, and I was never inflicted with a wait for buffering or any pauses in the action.
Torrenting (P2P File Sharing)
Torrenting (Peer-to-peer file sharing) is at once one of the most popular and one of the most controversial online activities around today. While the technology is used by individuals and companies to share files, it is also used by many folks to share copyrighted files, such as apps, music, and movies.
The illegal sharing of copyrighted materials has led to legal pressure on Internet Service Providers by music companies and movie studios to either throttle or completely block file sharing activity on their network.
A VPN encrypts your internet connection, making it impossible for your ISP or any other third-party to monitor your online activities. That also prevents the ISP from throttling or blocking your file sharing activities.
While VPN Unlimited doesn’t allow P2P file sharing on all of its servers, it does offer P2P-optimized connections on servers in 5 countries, via their “P2P” option.
Encryption, Privacy & Other Protection
VPN Unlimited delivers government-level encryption, ensure you online antics are never open to observation.
In addition to connection encryption, the provider also offers kill switch protection, which disconnects your device from the internet if it loses connection to the provider’s VPN servers. This prevents your connection from being open to monitoring.
The provider says it doesn’t log, collect, or store any information connected to your online activities after your session ends. It does monitor the number of device you have connected in order to enforce its 5 concurrent connection devices limit.
Support
VPN Unlimited offers 24/7 live support chat. They also offer responsive contact form support both in-app and on their website. The provider also offers a searchable FAQ library, as well as a “Manual” library to walk you through setup and troubleshooting.
I found the provider’s support library to be a handy source of information, and the provider delivered prompt and informed responses to my support inquiries.
Pricing
VPN Unlimited is normally one of the more reasonably priced VPN providers in the industry, offering an annual subscription for $59.99 per year ($5.00 per month), or a $99.99 3-year subscription ($2.78 per month). A Lifetime Subscription will usually take a $199 bite out of your bank account.
However, we’re pleased to tell you that you can get a Lifetime Subscription to the service for just $39, currently available in our online store.
- Monthly for $9.99/mo
- 1-Year for $5.00/mo
- 3-Year for $2.78/mo
- Lifetime for $39.99
Pros & Cons
Pros:
- Fast download speeds

- Top-Notch native app support
- Excellent 24/7 customer support

Verdict
VPN Unlimited provides excellent protection for your online activities, fast download speeds, and comprehensive access to blocked streaming services and other blocked content around the globe.
While the provider’s streaming service access is limited to only the most popular streaming services, such as Netflix, Hulu, HBO, BBC iPlayer, and a few others, it should prove sufficient for most users.
The provider’s apps, which are available for all of the popular desktop and mobile platforms, deliver easy access to protected connections. Fast download speeds are the rule here, and streaming, gaming, and file sharing fans should be pleased with the provider’s connection.
If you’re looking for a VPN primarily for torrenting, there are better alternatives out there.
